Marta Lynch was the pen name of Marta Lía Frigerio. She was an important Argentine writer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 8, 1925. She passed away in the same city on October 8, 1985. Marta Lynch wrote many books, including seven novels and nine collections of short stories.

Marta Lynch grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied philology at the University of Buenos Aires. Philology is the study of language and literature. She married a lawyer named Juan Manuel Lynch and they had two children.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Marta Lynch was part of a special group of women writers in Argentina. Other famous writers in this group included Silvina Bullrich and Beatriz Guido. Their books were very popular and sometimes caused a lot of discussion. A writer named Alberto Girri said that Marta Lynch was a unique writer. He admired her strong storytelling and how she created memorable characters.
Marta Lynch earned a degree in literature. She gave talks and lectures in many places, including countries in Europe and across the Americas like Mexico, Cuba, and Chile. She also wrote for a well-known newspaper called La Nación. She was even named one of the ten best storytellers in South America.
