A Famous Event
Martorelles is known for an event that ended the career of a famous motorcycle racer. In 1984, Ricardo Tormo, a top motorcycle rider, was practicing for a race. This happened in an industrial area that was supposed to be closed off. However, a car entered the area. Ricardo Tormo accidentally crashed into it. This accident caused a serious leg injury, which meant he could no longer race professionally.
