Marvin the Martian is a well-known fictional character from the classic Looney Tunes cartoons. He is an alien from space. Marvin often appears as an enemy of Bugs Bunny, trying to carry out his plans.

Who is Marvin the Martian?

Marvin the Martian is a quiet and polite character. Unlike many cartoon villains, he almost never shouts. He always speaks in a calm and soft voice. This makes him unique among Bugs Bunny's many foes.

Marvin's Look

Marvin has a very distinct look. He wears bright red tights and a green helmet. His helmet and skirt are designed to look like the uniform of an officer from ancient Rome. This gives him a classic, yet alien, appearance.

First Appearances

Marvin the Martian first appeared in a cartoon called Haredevil Hare. This episode was directed by Chuck Jones and was released in 1948. Over the next 15 years, Marvin appeared in five more cartoons. The first person to give Marvin his voice was the famous voice actor Mel Blanc.
