Masteyra Island (which is ostrov Masteyra in Bulgarian) is a small, rocky island. It is about 700 meters (2,300 feet) long and 200 meters (650 feet) wide. You can find it in Perrier Bay, off the northwest coast of Anvers Island. This island is part of the Palmer Archipelago in Antarctica. A passage about 1.13 kilometers (0.7 miles) wide separates it from Anvers Island.
The island gets its name from an old Thracian settlement and fortress called Masteyra. This ancient place is located in Southern Bulgaria.
