Matthew Edward Fish (born November 18, 1969) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played as a center during his career. Matt Fish played for several teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA). These teams included the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Washington Bullets.
Before joining the NBA, Matt played college basketball. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In 1992, he was chosen in the NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors.

Matt Fish's Basketball Career
Matt Fish also played in another league called the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He was part of many CBA teams from 1992 to 1999. Some of these teams were the Grand Rapids Hoops and the Quad City Thunder.
Winning a Championship
In 1994, Matt Fish and the Quad City Thunder team won a CBA championship. This was a big achievement for him. He was also recognized as one of the best new players. In 1993, he was named to the CBA All-Rookie Second Team. During his time in the CBA, he was considered a top center.
The "Fish Hook" Shot
Matt Fish was known for a special move on the court. When he made a hook shot, people often called it a "Fish Hook." This was a fun way to play on his last name.
Life After Basketball
After his basketball career, Matt Fish continued his education. He earned two master's degrees. One was in Education, and the other was in Business. He also has a bachelor's degree in Communication and Special Education.
Matt is involved with the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA). This group helps former NBA players. He is the President of the Phoenix Chapter of the NBRPA. He also helps publish Rebound Magazine. This magazine is the official publication of the NBRPA.
