Baseball Days
Before playing football, Matt Ware was also a talented baseball player. The Seattle Mariners picked him in the 21st round of the 2001 MLB Draft. He played for a team called the Peoria Mariners in 2001 and 2002.

Time with the Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles chose Matt Ware in the 2004 NFL draft. In the 2005 season, he made an amazing play. He scored a game-winning touchdown against the San Diego Chargers. This happened when he recovered the ball after the Chargers' field goal attempt was blocked. He then ran it all the way to the end zone! He left the Eagles on September 2, 2006.
Playing for the Arizona Cardinals
On September 3, 2006, the Arizona Cardinals picked up Matt Ware. He joined their team and continued his career as a safety. On December 16, 2009, he had to stop playing for a while because of a knee injury. The Cardinals released him on September 2, 2011.
Joining the Toronto Argonauts
After leaving the Cardinals, Matt took a break from football for two years. During this time, he worked as a personal trainer and even as a firefighter! Then, he decided to return to the field. He signed with the Toronto Argonauts, a team in the CFL (Canadian Football League).
