Matthew Allwood, born on November 16, 1992, is an Indigenous Australian who used to play professional rugby league. He was a talented player, known for his roles as a centre (centre) and winger (wing). He played for teams like the New Zealand Warriors and Canberra Raiders in Australia's top rugby league competition, the National Rugby League.

Early Life and Junior Career
Matthew Allwood grew up in Scone, New South Wales. He started playing rugby league when he was young. He played his junior games for Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School. His talent was noticed, and he was later signed by the Canberra Raiders team.
Developing Skills as a Young Player
As a young player, Allwood showed great promise. He was chosen to play for the Country New South Wales Under 17s and Under 18s teams. He also represented the New South Wales Combined High Schools team.
In 2011 and 2012, Allwood continued to develop his skills. He played for the Canberra Raiders' NYC team. This is a competition for younger players who are aiming to play professionally. In 2013, he moved up to play for the Raiders' New South Wales Cup team, the Mount Pritchard Mounties.
Professional Rugby League Career
Matthew Allwood made his mark in the National Rugby League with two main clubs.
Playing for the Canberra Raiders
Allwood made his big debut in the NRL in 2014. This was in Round 1 of the 2014 season for the Canberra Raiders. He played as a centre against the North Queensland Cowboys. Even though the Raiders lost that game 28–22, it was a big moment for him.
In Round 7 of the same season, Allwood scored his first ever NRL try. This happened in a close game against the Melbourne Storm. The Raiders won that game 24-22 in the final minutes. In his first year in the NRL, Allwood played in 11 matches and scored one try.
Moving to the New Zealand Warriors
On May 20, 2014, it was announced that Allwood would join the New Zealand Warriors. He signed a three-year contract to start in 2015. He joined the Warriors for their pre-season training in November 2014.
Allwood played a total of seven games for the New Zealand Warriors. He was with the club until the end of the 2017 season. During his time there, he mostly played for the Warriors' NSW Cup team. In 2018, Allwood also played for Newcastle in the NSW Cup competition.
