Mayssa Raquel de Oliveira Pessoa, known as Mayssa Pessoa, is a famous Brazilian handball goalkeeper. She was born on September 11, 1984. Mayssa plays for the Norwegian club Sola HK. She also used to play for the Brazilian national team.

In 2013, Mayssa helped her team win the World Championship. This was a huge win, as it was the first time Brazil or any South American country had won this title.

Mayssa Pessoa has played for many different handball clubs around the world. She is known for her skills as a goalkeeper.

Playing in France and Russia

In 2011, Mayssa joined the French team Issy-Paris Hand. After one year, she moved to Russia to play for Dinamo Volgograd. She helped Dinamo Volgograd win the Russian Super League twice, in 2013 and 2014.

Success in Romania

In 2014, Mayssa moved to Romania to play for CSM București. In 2015, her team won the Romanian National League. This was the first time CSM București had ever won this league.

The next year, in 2016, Mayssa won the league again with CSM București. They also won the Romanian Cup and the Champions League. Winning the Champions League is a very big achievement in European handball.

Time in North Macedonia and Return to Russia

After her success in Romania, Mayssa joined the North Macedonian team HC Vardar in 2016. She played there for one season and helped them win both the Macedonian league and cup.

In 2017, Mayssa went back to Russia to play for Rostov-Don. She continued her winning streak, helping Rostov-Don win the Russian championship three times: in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Later Career Clubs

In 2021, Mayssa returned to Romania to play for Dunărea Brăila. In 2023, she joined the Danish team HH Elite. Her team finished 12th in the 2023-24 season.

In the summer of 2024, Mayssa joined the Norwegian club Sola HK.
