This McDonald's is a huge building, about 29,135 square feet. It's a famous example of a roadside restaurant in the United States. Did you know the biggest temporary McDonald's ever was opened in London during the 2012 Summer Olympics? It was even larger, at 3,000 square meters!
A Unique Location
This McDonald's shares its big building with a Phillips 66 gas station. This makes it a great stop for travelers who need food and gas. It's a convenient place to take a break during a long trip.
Big Renovations
The restaurant and service area closed on June 4, 2013. It needed a big update! The renovation cost about $14.6 million. When it reopened on December 22, 2014, it had a new name. It used to be called the "Glass House Restaurant." Now, it's known as the "Will Rogers Archway."
Honoring Will Rogers
At the front of the west side of the building, you can see a statue of Will Rogers. He was a famous American entertainer and humorist. Inside the restaurant, there's even a small museum dedicated to him. It's a cool way to learn about a piece of Oklahoma's history while you eat!
