McNair, which used to be called Vale, is a small community in Arkansas, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own separate local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of a larger area, Fayetteville Township, within Washington County.
McNair is actually located inside the city of Fayetteville. You can find it in the southwest part of the city, not far from Baum Stadium. This area was once important for trains. It had a special "switching board" that connected the main Frisco railway line to another branch. This branch, called the Ozark and Cherokee Central, went all the way to Tahlequah.
