Mede is a small town, or comune (which is like a municipality or local government area), in Italy. It's located in the Lombardy region, which is in the northern part of the country. Mede is part of the Province of Pavia.
This town is about 50 kilometers (around 31 miles) southwest of a big city called Milan. It's also about 35 kilometers (around 22 miles) southwest of Pavia, another important city. As of December 31, 2004, about 6,993 people lived in Mede. The town covers an area of about 33.4 square kilometers (around 12.9 square miles).
Mede shares its borders with several other towns. These include Frascarolo, Gambarana, Lomello, Pieve del Cairo, Sartirana Lomellina, Semiana, Torre Beretti e Castellaro, and Villa Biscossi.
