Mefistofele facts for kids
Mefistofele is an Italian opera with music and a story (called a libretto) written by Arrigo Boito. It's based on a famous play called Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The opera was first shown in Milan, Italy, on March 5, 1868. Later, a new version was performed in Bologna on October 4, 1875.

In the 2013/2014 season, Mefistofele was performed at the Croatian National Theatre in Split. Michał Znaniecki was the director, and Nikša Bareza was the conductor (the person who leads the orchestra).
In August 2014, the opera was part of the 13th Opera Festival at the Theatro da Paz in Belém, Brazil. In this show, Denis Sedov played the role of Mefistofele, and Fernando Portari played Faust.
