Story of Mega Man
The story begins with two very smart scientists, Dr. Light and Dr. Wily. They worked together on robots. One day, they built a super advanced robot. But when they turned it on, it started to destroy their lab! Dr. Light thought the robot's guidance system, which Dr. Wily had programmed, was the problem. He wanted to start over.
Dr. Wily got angry and tried to steal the robot plans that night. Dr. Light caught him, but Wily knocked him down and got away with the plans. Wily then changed the old robot into Proto Man.
Later, Dr. Light built two new, friendly robots named Rock and Roll. He also built other robots like Ice Man, Guts Man, and Cut Man. Dr. Wily and Proto Man came and stole these robots. They reprogrammed Ice Man, Guts Man, and Cut Man to work for Wily.
Dr. Wily tried to reprogram Rock and Roll too. But Rock was clever! He tricked Dr. Wily by saying Dr. Light had also built "super warrior robots." Rock said if he and Roll were let go, he would tell Wily how to beat them. Dr. Wily believed robots couldn't lie, so he let them go. Rock and Roll escaped!
After this, Dr. Light changed Rock into Mega Man, a fighting robot. From then on, Mega Man worked to keep the world safe from Dr. Wily's evil plans. This first adventure is shown in Episode 1, called "The Beginning."
In every episode, Mega Man stops Dr. Wily's different schemes. It's a bit like the Super Friends show. Often, Mega Man's robot dog, Rush, does funny things, much like Scooby-Doo.
Characters
Main Heroes
- Mega Man (voiced by Ian James Corlett) – Mega Man was first a helper robot named Rock, built by Dr. Light. He wore a blue T-shirt and shorts. After Dr. Wily reprogrammed Dr. Light's other robots, Rock was rebuilt into a fighting robot. His main weapon is a plasma cannon on his arm. He can also copy the powers of Dr. Wily's robots by touching them. Mega Man often tells jokes and puns during fights. His favorite saying is "Sizzling Circuits."
- Dr. Light (voiced by Jim Byrnes) – He is Mega Man's creator. Dr. Light used to work with Dr. Wily. After Wily stole their plans, Dr. Light built Rock, Roll, and the first three robot masters: Cut Man, Guts Man, and Ice Man. When Wily reprogrammed his robots, Dr. Light rebuilt Rock into Mega Man to stop Wily. Dr. Light often creates new robots and inventions to help people.
- Roll (voiced by Robyn Ross) – Roll is Mega Man's sister. She helps him on his missions. She was built as a household robot. She has many home appliances that can turn on and off, like Mega Man's cannon. She often uses a powerful vacuum cleaner. It can pull robots apart or suck in enemy attacks and fire them back. Roll looks more grown-up than her game version and wears a red-and-yellow suit.
- Rush (voiced by Ian James Corlett) – Rush is Mega Man's robot dog. Mega Man often uses Rush's jet-mode, where Rush turns into a jet board, to travel quickly. Rush also has other modes. His nose can "sniff out anything," and his ears can hear sounds from far away. Rush often acts silly, like Scooby-Doo. He makes dog sounds but can also speak a few words, mostly for funny moments.
Supporting Friends
- Eddie (voiced by Scott McNeil) – Eddie is a small robot that looks like a suitcase with legs. His main job is to bring Energy Cans (called E-Tanks) to Mega Man when he needs more power. Eddie is always ready to help.
- Mayor of New York City (voiced by Garry Chalk and Jim Byrnes) - The Mayor of New York City often asks Mega Man for help when Dr. Wily causes trouble. Even though he's scared of Wily, the Mayor tries to stand up to him.
- Bree Ricotta (voiced by Robyn Ross) – Bree is a news reporter who appears in several episodes. She reports on the events happening in the city, especially when Dr. Wily is causing chaos.
- Mega Man X (voiced by Michael Donovan) – X is a hero from the future. He appears in one episode, chasing bad robots named Vile and Spark Mandrill through time. X helps Mega Man stop them from taking a special power source back to their time. Like Mega Man, X can copy enemy weapons.
Villains
- Dr. Wily (voiced by Scott McNeil) – Dr. Wily is Dr. Light's old partner. He stole robot plans after their first robot failed. Wily believes Dr. Light sabotaged his work. He wants to get revenge on humanity by having his robots control everything. He often laughs in a crazy way.
-
- Proto Man (voiced by Scott McNeil) – In this show, Proto Man is Mega Man's older brother and Dr. Wily's main helper. He often disobeys Wily because he wants to defeat Mega Man himself or make Mega Man join Wily's side. Proto Man has powers similar to Mega Man's. He can fire plasma blasts and has copied other robot powers.
-
- Batontons – These are Dr. Wily's "Spy Bats." They are often used for spying. They can also attack with lightning.
- Vile (voiced by Lee Tockar) – Vile is a strong robot from the future. He comes to Mega Man's time to get special power rods. He works with Dr. Wily to get them. Vile wants the rods to help his master, Sigma, in a war against humans in the future. Mega Man and Mega Man X team up to stop him.
-
- Spark Mandrill (voiced by Richard Newman) – Spark Mandrill is a robot from the future and Vile's partner. He helps Vile try to get the power rods. Mega Man X defeats him and sends him back to the future.
Robot Masters
Many different Robot Masters from the Mega Man video games appear in the show. They are usually Dr. Wily's henchmen.
- Cut Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – Cut Man was originally a logging robot built by Dr. Light. Dr. Wily reprogrammed him. He uses sharp "Rolling Cutters" and often makes jokes about cutting things. He appears in almost every episode.
- Guts Man (voiced by Garry Chalk) – Guts Man was built to help with construction. He is very strong but not very smart. He tries to crush Mega Man. Rush, Mega Man's dog, often bites Guts Man's leg. Guts Man also likes to break through walls instead of using doors.
- Ice Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – Ice Man is an ice-themed robot. He was built for arctic work. Dr. Wily reprogrammed him.
- Fire Man – A fire-themed robot. He only appeared in the first episode.
- Bomb Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – A robot who throws bombs. He was built for demolition. He often gets destroyed when someone shoots or deflects his bombs.
- Elec Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – An electrical robot. He has a muscular look and his "Thunder Beam" is a strong attack.
- Air Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – A fan-themed robot. He has a human-like face and is taller than Guts Man.
- Crash Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – He attacks with "Time Bombs" that have drills on them.

- Metal Man (voiced by Ian James Corlett) – This robot attacks with circular saw blades. He can also turn his hands into saw blades.
- Quick Man (voiced by Jim Byrnes) – A very fast robot. He attacks with a boomerang from his head and laser boomerangs from his wrist.
- Wood Man (voiced by Richard Newman) – A wood-themed robot. His "Leaf Shield" is a large leaf-shaped shield.
- Gemini Man (voiced by Tony Sampson) – He uses his "Gemini Laser." He was once part of a band called Cold Steel, used by Dr. Wily to brainwash people.
- Hard Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – A robot with a very strong body. He often uses the word "hard" in his sentences.
- Magnet Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – A magnet-themed robot. He uses his hands for magnetic powers.
- Needle Man (voiced by Garry Chalk) – A needle-themed robot. His "Needle Cannon" works the same as in the games.
- Shadow Man (voiced by Terry Klassen) – A ninja-themed robot. He can throw the blade on his head.
- Snake Man (voiced by Ian James Corlett) – A snake-themed robot. His "Search Snakes" are projectiles that can chew through anything.

- Top Man (voiced by Jim Byrnes) – A top-themed robot. He is taller than his video game version.
