Megan Rochell is a talented American R&B singer and songwriter. She was once signed to a big music company called Def Jam Recordings. After that, she worked with famous producer Rodney Jerkins and also signed a deal to write songs for others.

Megan Rochell's Music Journey

Megan started her music career very young. When she was just 11, she won a TV show called Showtime at the Apollo five times! This was a big achievement.

Later, she met Leon Huff from Philadelphia International Records and began working on her singing career. One day, she met Nathan Morris from the group Boyz II Men. She sang for him, and he was so impressed that he signed her to his management company. This helped Megan get a record deal with Def Jam Records.

Megan also went to Rowan University. She first studied business, then changed to elementary education. But she left college when she got her record deal with Def Jam.

First Album Plans

Megan's first album was supposed to be called You, Me and the Radio. It featured songs with famous artists and producers like Rodney Jerkins, Ne-Yo, Fabolous, the Underdogs, and Stargate. The album was planned to come out in June 2006.

However, the album was never officially released. Megan explained that the music industry was changing a lot. Also, there were new people in charge at Def Jam, like Jay Z becoming president. New artists like Rihanna were also becoming very popular. Because of these changes, her album was put aside.

Even though it wasn't officially released, the album's songs were shared online from promotional CDs. The next year, Megan worked with rapper Peedi on a song called "Take Me Home."

New Music and Projects

In 2008, Megan released a mixtape called Vibe Love Party. She shared it on her MySpace page so fans could listen. She also worked with Skinny & Scales on a song called "We're Gonna Make It" in 2009.

Years later, in 2015, she released a digital song called "Hell Nah." It was released again in 2016 through a different company. In 2016, Megan also released another new song called "I'm Busy!"

Later that year, she released her first album digitally on music sites like Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. This version had a slightly different list of songs and some bonus tracks. A limited number of vinyl records of the album were also released in 2018.

In 2017, Megan released her first EP (which is like a mini-album) called Insight. She released it on her own. She also mentioned she was working on a special mixtape just for girls. Around this time, she spent time writing songs for other artists, including Kehlani, K. Michelle, and Keyshia Cole.

In late 2018, she released two more digital songs, "X" and "Because of Love." These songs were released before her new EP, New Wave Music, which came out in November 2018.
