Megumu Yoshida, born on April 13, 1973, is a Japanese football player and manager. He played as a defender for many years in Japan's top football leagues. After he stopped playing, he became a coach and even managed some teams. Currently, he works as an assistant manager for J1 League club Avispa Fukuoka.

Megumu Yoshida's Playing Career

Megumu Yoshida was born in Aichi Prefecture in Japan. After finishing university, he joined a J1 League club called Verdy Kawasaki in 1996. He didn't play much in his first two years with the team.

In 1998, he moved to Vissel Kobe. Here, he played a lot of games as a left-side defender for three seasons. Then, in 2001, he joined JEF United Ichihara. He continued to play as a left-back, but his playing time started to decrease after 2002.

By 2004, he moved to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He became a regular player again, often playing as a left-back in a three-defender system. However, in 2005, he didn't play as much. In 2006, he joined J2 League club Sagan Tosu. He played mainly as a central defender for two seasons before he retired from playing at the end of the 2007 season.

Becoming a Football Coach

After he stopped playing football, Megumu Yoshida started his coaching career. In 2008, he began coaching for the youth team at Sanfrecce Hiroshima, one of his former clubs. The next year, in 2009, he became a coach at Chukyo University, which was his local university.

In 2010, he went back to Sagan Tosu, but this time as a coach for their main team. In August 2014, the team's manager, Yoon Jong-hwan, left, and Yoshida took over as the new manager. He managed the team until the end of 2014, then went back to being a coach in 2015.

In 2016, he moved to FC Gifu to work as a coach under manager Ruy Ramos. In July 2016, Ramos was replaced, and Yoshida became the new manager for FC Gifu. In 2017, he moved again to V-Varen Nagasaki to work as a coach there.
