Mehmet Erdem (born on December 31, 1978) is a talented musician and singer-songwriter from Turkey. He is well-known for his popular song "Herkes Aynı Hayatta" (Everyone is in the Same Life).

Mehmet Erdem's Early Life and Music Journey

Mehmet Erdem was born in 1978 in a city called Manisa. His family originally came from Arapgir. He went to İzmir Science High School and later studied mechanical engineering at Boğaziçi University.

Music was a big part of his family. His father played the clarinet, and his uncle played the bağlama, which is a traditional Turkish string instrument. This encouraged Mehmet to start his own musical journey. He began playing the mandolin when he was just 5 years old! Later, he learned to play the bağlama and the cümbüş, another string instrument. In high school, he joined different bands, performing as both a musician and a singer.

Mehmet Erdem's Professional Music Career

In 1997, Mehmet moved to Istanbul to continue his studies. He also started working as a musician in various places. In 1999, he joined a band called Kardeş Türküler, which marked the start of his professional music career.

He also worked behind the scenes, helping to produce studio albums for many different artists. At the same time, he kept learning new instruments like the oud, cümbüş, guitar, and bağlama from famous musicians.

Mehmet Erdem has also composed music for movies and TV shows. In 2009, he won a special award called the Golden Orange for Best Original Score. This was for his music in the film Deli Deli Olma. Besides music, he has even appeared as a guest in some TV series and movies, such as Leyla ile Mecnun and Kuzey Güney.
