Melinda Kistétényi (born July 25, 1926 – died October 20, 1999) was a very talented Hungarian musician. She was an amazing classical organist and also a composer, which means she wrote her own music. Melinda was especially known for her improvisations, where she would make up music on the spot!

Melinda Kistétényi was born in Hungary, a country in Central Europe. She dedicated her life to music and teaching.

A Talented Musician and Teacher

Melinda Kistétényi spent a huge part of her life, 53 years, teaching music. She was a professor at the famous Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Many of her students became very successful musicians themselves. Some of her well-known students include András Schiff, Zoltán Kocsis, Iván Fischer, Dezső Ránki, Sylvia Sass, and Xaver Varnus. She passed away in Budapest.
