Melody Anderson was born on December 3, 1955. She is a Canadian actress who later became a social worker and public speaker. She is known for her work helping families deal with the effects of addiction.

One of her most famous acting roles was playing Dale Arden in the 1980 movie Flash Gordon. She also starred with Chuck Norris in the 1986 film Firewalker. Before becoming an actress, Melody trained in singing. This led her to many roles in movies and TV shows during the late 1970s and 1980s.

Early Life and Education

After finishing high school, Melody Anderson went to Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. She earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism. For a short time, she worked as a reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. After this, she traveled to places like Southeast Asia and Australia. She also appeared in the first Victoria's Secret catalog in 1977.

When Melody Anderson came back to North America, she started her acting career. Her first TV appearances were in 1977. She was a guest star in the series Logan's Run. She also appeared in an episode of Welcome Back, Kotter.

Melody made many guest appearances on popular TV shows. These included Archie Bunker's Place, Battlestar Galactica, and Dallas. She also appeared in T. J. Hooker, CHiPs, and The Fall Guy. She was even in the first episode of The A-Team.

She had ongoing roles in the shows St. Elsewhere and Jake and the Fatman. In 1983, she played the main female character, Brooke McKenzie, in the NBC series Manimal. She also guest starred in an episode of Murder, She Wrote in 1989.

Major Film Roles

Melody Anderson is well-known for her role as Dale Arden in the 1980 movie Flash Gordon. She also played Janet Gillis in the 1981 film Dead and Buried.

In 1983, she starred in a TV movie called Policewoman .... In 1986, she appeared with Nicolas Cage in The Boy in Blue. That same year, she starred with Chuck Norris in Firewalker. She also starred in the TV movie Beverly Hills ... (1986), which featured Faye Dunaway.

From 1992 to 1993, Melody played Natalie Marlowe on the soap opera All My Children. She also briefly played Natalie's twin sister, Janet Dillon. She played real-life figures in TV films too. She was Edie Adams in Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter and Marilyn Monroe in Marilyn & Bobby: Her Final Affair (1993). Her last TV appearance was in 1995 on Burke's Law.

After her acting career, Melody Anderson became a social worker. She is licensed in California as an EMDR Clinician/Therapist. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York and California.
