Melrose is a small town in Silver Bow County, Montana, United States. It is located about 34 miles (55 km) south of Butte. It is also about 30 miles (48 km) north of Dillon. The town's postal code is 59743.
Melrose was started in 1881. It was an important meeting point for a road coming from Corinne, Utah. It was also close to a metal processing factory, called a smelter, in Glendale. Today, Melrose is known for its great trout fishing. It sits along a beautiful part of the Big Hole River.
The town is also located within the Beaverhead–Deerlodge National Forest. This means it is surrounded by lots of nature and outdoor spaces.
