History of Mentor

Mentor got its name from early settlers who came from a town called Mentor, Ohio. They decided to name their new home after their old one.

For many years, from 1881 to 1995, Mentor had its own post office. This was a central place where people could send and receive mail.

A railroad track used to run through Mentor, going north and south. However, this railroad line was later closed down.
