Mera monster, Alfons! is a fun children's book written by Gunilla Bergström in 1992. It's part of the popular Alfie Atkins series, which tells stories about a young boy named Alfie and his adventures. This book was also turned into a radio play, which was broadcast on SR P4 on August 5, 2004.

What Happens in the Story?

In Mera monster, Alfons!, Alfons is asked to babysit a small child named "Småtting." Alfons wants to tell Småtting a nice story about a chicken. But Småtting has other ideas!

Instead of a chicken story, Småtting really wants to hear about scary monsters. Alfons tries to tell a monster story, but it ends up making Småtting feel a bit frightened. After all the monster talk, Småtting decides that a simple fairytale about a chicken sounds much better after all. It's a story about how sometimes what we think we want isn't what we truly need!
