Mercedes Pinto Armas (born in La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain, on October 12, 1883 – died in Mexico City, Mexico, on October 21, 1976) was an important Spanish writer. She wrote many different kinds of works, including plays, poems, essays, and novels.

One of her most famous novels was He, written in 1926. This book was later turned into a movie called Él (which means This Strange Passion) in 1952. The famous director Luis Buñuel made the film.
