The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, often called the Met Life Tower, is a very tall building in New York City, United States. It stands 213 meters (700 feet) high and has 50 floors. This impressive building was finished in 1909.
For a short time, the Met Life Tower was the tallest building in the world. It held this record from 1909 until 1913. Before it was built, the Singer Building was the world's tallest. Four years after the Met Life Tower was completed, the Woolworth Building took its place as the tallest.
