Meyersville is a small, unincorporated community in DeWitt County, Texas, United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live together, but it doesn't have its own official city government.
Meyersville's History
Meyersville was first settled in 1846. A man named Adolph Meyer started the community, and that's how it got its name. Many of the first people to live here were from Germany. A post office opened in Meyersville in 1851. This helped people send and receive mail. Today, the Pakebusch family holds a reunion in Meyersville every year. It happens on the first Saturday in August.
Education for Students
Students in Meyersville attend schools in two different districts. The Meyersville Independent School District serves younger students. This includes children from pre-kindergarten up to eighth grade. After eighth grade, students go to Cuero High School. This high school is part of the Cuero Independent School District.
