Michael Baisden is an American author, television host, and the former host of The Michael Baisden Show. His radio show was broadcast on many stations across the country through the AURN. At its peak, the show had over 8 million daily listeners.
Baisden's career in media started in a unique way. He left his job driving trains in Chicago to write his first book, Never Satisfied. He then traveled the country and sold his book from the trunk of his car. This hard work paid off, and he became a New York Times best-selling author with over 2 million books sold. He has also hosted two national TV shows and produced three films.

Career in Writing and Film
Baisden has turned his creative ideas into many projects. He produced two national stage plays based on his novels. He also created an award-winning documentary called Love ... & Lies, which explored relationships.
In 2011, Baisden wrote, directed, and produced another documentary called Do Women Know What They Want? He has also created seminars to help people with their relationships.
Radio and Television Host
Baisden began his radio career as a volunteer host in New York City. He was so popular that he helped his station's afternoon show go from ninth place to first place in the ratings. His show, The Michael Baisden Show, started broadcasting nationally in 2005.
After a break, his show returned to the radio in January 2017. It was first broadcast from WALR-FM in Atlanta, Georgia.
Baisden After Dark
From 2007 to 2008, Baisden hosted a late-night TV talk show on TV One called Baisden After Dark. The show also featured comedian George Willborn and musician Morris Day with his band.
Community Work and Activism
Baisden is also known for his work as a social activist and community leader. In 2007, he helped lead the Jena Six March in Jena, Louisiana, to support six African-American teenagers. In 2008, he publicly supported Barack Obama for president.
The Michael Baisden Foundation
To help others, Baisden started the Michael Baisden Foundation. This non-profit organization works to encourage reading and find mentors for young people who need guidance.
Some of the foundation's important projects include:
- The One Million Mentors National Campaign to Save Our Kids
- Partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Black and Missing Foundation
- Organizing free health clinics
Awards and Recognition
Michael Baisden has received many awards for his work in media and the community. He was given the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Keepers of the Dream Award.
Many cities have honored him by giving him the "Key to the City," including Dallas, Texas; Shreveport, Louisiana; and Tampa, Florida. Several cities have also declared a "Michael Baisden Day" to recognize his efforts to help young people.
