Michael R. Crouse, born on November 22, 1990, is a former professional baseball player from Canada. He played as an outfielder and was part of the Toronto Blue Jays team. He also played for the Canadian national baseball team.

Michael Crouse's Baseball Journey
Early Days in Baseball
Michael Crouse went to Centennial Secondary School in Coquitlam, British Columbia. In high school, he played both baseball and basketball. He later decided to focus only on baseball.
Playing for the Toronto Blue Jays
After high school, the Toronto Blue Jays picked Crouse in the 16th round of the 2008 MLB draft. He chose to sign with the Blue Jays instead of going to college.
He started his professional career in 2008 with the Gulf Coast Blue Jays. In 2010, he moved up to the Lansing Lugnuts. There, he became the team's main right fielder. He finished that season with a .261 batting average. He also hit 14 home runs and had 55 runs batted in. Crouse was also very fast, leading the Lugnuts with 38 stolen bases.
He continued to play for different Blue Jays teams until 2014. He played for the Dunedin Blue Jays and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. After the 2014 season, he left the Blue Jays organization.
Independent League Teams
In 2015, Crouse joined the Lancaster Barnstormers. This team is part of an independent league, meaning it's not connected to Major League Baseball. He missed that whole season because of an injury. He signed with them again in 2016.
Later in 2016, Lancaster traded Crouse to the New Britain Bees. He finished the season with the Bees and led the league with 61 stolen bases.
In 2018, Crouse played for the Pericos de Puebla in the Mexican League. He then joined Algodoneros de Unión Laguna in 2019.
On May 28, 2019, Crouse signed with the Somerset Patriots.
Playing for the Chicago Dogs
On March 16, 2020, Crouse joined the Chicago Dogs. He played 58 games for them in 2020. He hit 10 home runs and stole 20 bases that year.
He played even better in 2021, hitting 13 home runs and stealing 33 bases. In 2022, he played 87 games, hitting 7 home runs and stealing 38 bases.
Later Teams
On August 27, 2022, Crouse was traded to the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He played 9 games for them.
On January 18, 2023, the Milwaukee Milkmen claimed Crouse. He became a free agent after the 2023 season.
Playing for Team Canada
Michael Crouse has proudly played for the Canadian national baseball team.
He played in the 2008 World Junior Baseball Championship. He was even named to the tournament's All-Star team.
In 2011, he played in the 2011 Baseball World Cup, where his team won the bronze medal. He also played in the 2011 Pan American Games that same year. Team Canada won the gold medal there! He was the youngest player on the team.

Crouse is about 6 feet 4 inches tall. He is known as a five-tool player. This means he is good at hitting for average, hitting for power, running, throwing, and fielding. He was first picked as a centre fielder, but he usually played in right field.
Family Life
Michael's father, Ray Crouse, was also a professional athlete. He played football as a running back in both the National Football League and the Canadian Football League.
