Michael William Delany (born 22 August 1965) is an Australian former swimmer. He was known for his fast freestyle sprints in the 1980s. Michael won a silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This big win was for the 4×100-metre freestyle relay race.

Michael Delany was a key part of a famous swimming team. They were known as the "Mean Machine." This team first competed at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia.
Winning Gold in Brisbane
At the 1982 Commonwealth Games, Michael teamed up with Neil Brooks, Greg Fasala, and Graeme Brewer. Together, they won a gold medal! This was in the 4×100-metre freestyle relay.
