Anacle Michael Ghounam Kiessou, known as Michael Kiessou, is a singer and entertainer from Cameroon. He became famous with his song Bennam. This song was part of his first album, Partage, released on April 2, 2014.
Michael was nominated twice for the Canal 2'Or Act 10 awards. He won the Best Video award for his song Tourner les reins. He also won Best Male Artist at the 2015 GreenLights Awards.

Early Life
Michael Kiessou was born in Douala, Cameroon. His family comes from the MiFi and Koung-Khi areas in the West Region of Cameroon. From a young age, he loved world music and traditional rhythms from his home region.
He was inspired by famous Cameroonian artists like Sam Fan Thomas and Richard Bona. Throughout his school years, he developed his passion for music. He often took part in school music competitions.
Music Career
Starting in Radio and TV
After finishing his degree in communication at the University of Douala, Michael started working in radio. He trained at RTM Radio Douala. There, he met Joyce Fotso, who helped him begin his career as a radio and TV host.
Two years later, he joined the TV channel Canal 2 International. He hosted shows like Sweet Surfer on Sweet FM radio. He also hosted Comptoir dafrik and Urban list on TV.
First Steps in Music
While working as a TV and radio host, Michael decided to try making music. He worked with a local RNB singer named Edel Koula. Their song Demoiselle was his first step into the music world.
In March 2013, he met producer Philjohn. Philjohn signed Michael to his record label, Hope Music Group. This was a big step for his music career.
"Partage" EP Release
After joining Hope Music Group in 2013, Michael spent time in music studios. He worked on new songs for his first album. The song Abele was produced by Philjohn. It was released on July 17, 2013. This song became the first single from his album, Partage.
In the music video for Abele, Michael celebrated the lively dance culture of the Littoral Region (Cameroon). He also paid tribute to Sam Fan Thomas's famous "Makassi dance". The video was directed by NS Pictures. It first showed on the Jambo show of Canal 2 International on July 28, 2013. It was then released on YouTube on August 3, 2013.

Concert Tours
Wopalilo Live Tour
The Wopalilo Live Tour was Michael Kiessou's first concert tour. It was announced in October 2014. The tour had 5 parts and included 50 shows. Most of the early shows were in Central Africa.
The tour began in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on December 18, 2014. It ended in Douala, Cameroon, on August 30, 2015. The tour was named after his new song "Wopalilo". Cameroonian rapper C-prime, who was featured on the song, also made many guest appearances during the tour.
