Michael Weatherly Jr. (born July 8, 1968) is an American actor, producer, director, and musician. He is well-known for his roles in popular TV shows. These include Logan Cale in Dark Angel and Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo in NCIS. He also played Dr. Jason Bull in the series Bull.

Michael Weatherly: Actor and Director
Early Life and Education
Michael Weatherly was born in New York City. He grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. His parents are Patricia and Michael Weatherly Sr. He has Irish family roots.
Weatherly went to Fairfield Country Day School. He then graduated from Brooks School in Massachusetts in 1986. He studied at several colleges, including Boston University. However, he left college to start his acting career.
Starting His Acting Journey
Weatherly began acting on TV with a small part in The Cosby Show. He played Theo Huxtable's roommate. He then joined the cast of Loving as Cooper Alden. He continued this role in The City until 1996.
He moved to Los Angeles and got a regular role on the FOX show Significant Others. He also appeared in the 1998 film The Last Days of Disco. In 1998, he played a warlock in the series Charmed.
His movie roles include Meet Wally Sparks (1997) and Gun Shy (2000). He also starred in Cabin by the Lake (2000).
Famous TV Roles
Weatherly starred in Dark Angel for two seasons. For this role, he received three award nominations. These included two Saturn Awards for best supporting actor.
In 2003, he appeared as Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo in JAG. He continued this role in the spin-off series NCIS. He also made guest appearances on NCIS: New Orleans (2014) and NCIS: Los Angeles (2015). He is one of only two actors to appear in all four shows.
From 2016 to 2022, Weatherly starred in the series Bull. This show was based on the real-life work of Dr. Phil McGraw. In 2024, CBS announced that Weatherly would return as DiNozzo. He will star with Cote de Pablo in a new NCIS spin-off series. It is called NCIS: Tony & Ziva and will be on Paramount+.
Behind the Camera: Directing
Michael Weatherly has directed several short films. He also directed episodes of NCIS and Bull. His directing debut on NCIS was the episode "One Last Score" in 2011. He also directed "Seek" in 2013.
In 2017, he directed a documentary called Jamaica Man. It was about the life of Nigel Pemberton. The film won "Best Documentary Portrait" at the 2017 Doc LA - Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival. It also won "Best Documentary" at the 2018 NYC Independent Film Festival.
Music and Giving Back
Weatherly is also a musician. He sings and plays instruments like the piano and guitar. He has written songs, including "Bitter and Blue" and "Under the Sun." These songs are featured on NCIS soundtracks.
Michael and his wife support several non-profit groups. They work with the Tryall Fund, which helps improve education and health in Jamaica. They also support the Environmental Working Group. This group focuses on protecting the environment. They are also involved with Healthy Child Healthy World, which helps children's health.
Personal Life
Weatherly married his co-star Amelia Heinle in 1995. They had a son in 1996 and divorced in 1997.
He was engaged to actress Jessica Alba from 2001 to 2003.
In 2009, Weatherly married Dr. Bojana Janković. They live in Fairfield, Connecticut, with their two children. Michael Weatherly is the uncle of actress Alexandra Breckenridge.
