Michel'le Denise Toussant (born December 5, 1967) is an American R&B singer. She is famous for her songs from the late 1980s and early 1990s. Her most popular song, "No More Lies," reached the top ten on the US Hot 100 chart.
From 2013 to 2015, Michel'le was part of the TV One reality show R&B Divas: Los Angeles. A movie about her life, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le, was released in 2016.

Michel'le's Music Journey
Michel'le, who grew up in California, started her music career in 1987. She was a singer on the World Class Wreckin' Cru song "Turn Off the Lights." She joined Eazy-E's Ruthless Records label.
First Album Success
In 1989, Michel'le released her first album, also called Michel'le. Her then-boyfriend, Dr. Dre, produced the entire album. It included the hit song "No More Lies," which reached number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Other popular R&B songs from the album were "Nicety" and "Something in My Heart." Her first album sold over 500,000 copies in the US. It was certified Gold on April 25, 1990.
Working with Other Artists
Michel'le also worked with a group called the West Coast All-Stars. They were nominated for a Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group Grammy Award. This was for their song "We're All in the Same Gang." The group included famous artists like MC Hammer, Ice-T, and members of N.W.A.
Later Music and New Songs
Nine years after her first album, Michel'le released her second album, Hung Jury, in 1998. This album was on Death Row Records. It did not become as popular as her first album.
Michel'le also sang on 2Pac's song "Run tha Streets." She also sang on Tha Dogg Pound's song "Let's Play House." Since 2003, she has been working on new music. She released new songs like "Freedom to Love" in 2011 and "It Still Hurts" in 2014.

In 2013, Michel'le joined the cast of the TV show R&B Divas LA. This show followed the lives of R&B singers.
Sharing Her Story in a Biopic
Michel'le's story was not fully told in the 2015 movie Straight Outta Compton. This movie was about the group N.W.A. Because of this, she decided to share her own experiences.
On October 15, 2016, the Lifetime TV channel aired a movie about her life. It was called Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le. Actress Rhyon Nicole Brown played Michel'le in the film. The movie showed her challenging relationships and her journey to find herself. Michel'le hoped her movie would help others facing similar difficulties.
Michel'le also performed as herself in the stage play Love Jones: The Musical.
Personal Life and Relationships
Michel'le met Dr. Dre when she was 16 years old. They met while she was recording vocals for a song called "Turn Off the Lights" in 1987. This song later reached number 54 on the Billboard Charts.
Family Life
Michel'le and Dr. Dre started dating and later had a son named Marcel in February 1991. Marcel was Michel'le's first child. Their relationship became difficult over time. Michel'le has shared that she faced many challenges during this period. She eventually left Dr. Dre.
Later, in 1999, Michel'le married Suge Knight while he was in prison. She filed for divorce six years later. Michel'le and Suge Knight have a daughter named Bailei, born in 2002.
Speaking Out
In 2015, Dr. Dre apologized to women he had hurt in the past. This apology came after he received criticism for how his past was shown in the movie Straight Outta Compton. Michel'le felt his apology was for the public, not directly for her. She said a true apology would have been a private call.
