Death Row Records is an American record label that started in 1991. It was founded by The D.O.C., Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, and Dick Griffey. This label became very famous by releasing popular hip-hop albums. These albums were by artists from the West Coast. Some of these artists included Dr. Dre (with The Chronic), Snoop Dogg (with Doggystyle and Tha Doggfather), Tha Dogg Pound (with Dogg Food), and 2Pac (with All Eyez on Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory). During the 1990s, Death Row was very successful.
Later in the 1990s, the label faced some challenges. It was eventually sold to new owners.
