Mark Anthony Joseph Morrison (born on May 3, 1972) is a British singer. He is most famous for his 1996 hit song "Return of the Mack". This song became very popular in many European countries right away. The next year, it reached number 2 in the United States.

Early Life and Background
Mark Morrison was born in Hanover, West Germany, in 1972. He later lived in Leicester, England. When he was 11, he moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, in the United States. After finishing high school in 1990, Mark returned to Leicester. His family background is from Barbados.
Life in Florida
In October 2022, Mark Morrison bought a house in Florida. He paid $2 million for it. He bought a second home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in December 2023.

Starting Out
Mark Morrison's first official song was "Where Is Our Love". He released it on vinyl in 1993. He put it out on his own record label, Joe'Mel.
In mid-1995, Mark released his first single called "Crazy". This song became a Top 20 hit in the UK. It was also very popular in clubs. His next song, "Let's Get Down", also made it into the Top 40.
The Rise of "Return of the Mack"
In the spring of 1996, Mark released "Return of the Mack". This song became a huge international success. It was number one on the UK Singles Chart for two weeks.
His first album, also called Return of the Mack, came out next. It sold millions of copies around the world. The album reached number four in the UK. It sold 3 million albums worldwide.
Several more hit songs came from this album over the next year. "Crazy", "Trippin'", "..." and "Moan & Groan" all reached the UK Top 10. This made him the first British artist to have five Top 10 hits from a first album.
Awards and US Success
In 1997, Mark Morrison received many important nominations. These included four Brit Award nominations. He also got a Mercury Prize nomination. He was nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award and five MOBO Awards.
"Return of the Mack" climbed to number 2 on the American Billboard charts. It was certified platinum, meaning it sold over a million copies. The song stayed on the Billboard charts for a long time, 40 weeks. Mark had one more small hit in the US in 1997, "Moan & Groan". It reached number 76.
Mark Morrison performed at the 1997 Brit Awards. After this performance, his record label and Mark released an EP. It was called Only God Can Judge Me. This EP had nine tracks, including live performances and interviews. It also had three full songs, like "Who's the Mack!", which reached number 13 in the UK.

Mark Morrison appeared at the 1999 Brit Awards. He presented an award and introduced Whitney Houston. He also announced he was returning to music. In 2012, Mark Morrison was a guest on a song called "I'm On 2.0". This song by Houston rapper Trae tha Truth featured many other famous rappers. A music video for "I'm On 2.0" came out on June 3.
In June 2013, Mark Morrison released the music video for "I Am What I Am". The song was released on iTunes on September 1, 2013. On October 20, 2013, he released a song called "N.A.N.G. 2.0". It featured Crooked I and Shonie.
On July 7, 2014, Mark Morrison released an EP called I Am What I Am. This EP included the songs "I Am What I Am" and "N.A.N.G. 2.0". It also had five new songs.
