Vince Edwards (born September 9, 1963 – died January 12, 2022) was an American rapper. He was better known by his stage name, CPO Boss Hogg. He came from Compton, California.

Vince Edwards started his music journey in 1989. He was a founding member of a hip hop group called Capital Punishment Organization. Back then, he used the name Lil' Nation. The group released one album before they went their separate ways in 1991. After that, Edwards became a solo artist. He appeared on many popular albums by other famous musicians.

Vince Edwards was a talented rapper. He loved music from many different artists. Some of his favorite musicians included George Clinton, Prince, Barry White, and Michael Jackson. He also looked up to hip hop legends like Chuck D, KRS-One, and Ice Cube.

Starting His Music Career

A famous rapper named MC Ren discovered Vince Edwards. MC Ren helped him get a record deal with Capitol Records. MC Ren also produced the first album for C.P.O., called To Hell and Black. This album came out in 1990. The music video for their song "Ballad Of A Menace" even featured Eazy and Dre.

Working with Other Artists

After his group C.P.O. broke up, Edwards joined Death Row Records. This was a very well-known record label. He contributed to several movie soundtracks. He had a song called "Jus So Ya No" on the Above The Rim OST. He also worked with Slip Capone on "The Eulogy" for the Murder Was The Case OST.

Big Collaborations

One of CPO Boss Hogg's most famous appearances was with Tupac Shakur. He was featured on the song "Picture Me Rollin'". This track was on Tupac's huge album, All Eyez on Me, released in 1996. Later, CPO Boss Hogg moved to Priority Records. He then appeared on albums by artists connected to Snoop Dogg, like Tha Eastsidaz and The Return of the Regulator.

Starting His Own Label

In 2012, Vince Edwards decided to start his own music company. He named it Tilted Brimm Entertainment Group, LLC. This allowed him to release his own music independently.

Since 2013, CPO Boss Hogg had been working on a new album. He planned to call it I, Boss. He released the first song from this album, "Your Body Is Hot!", on August 19, 2014.

Personal Life and Passing

Vince Edwards had a daughter named Mikki. He passed away on January 12, 2022, when he was 58 years old.
