Delmar Drew Arnaud (born May 25, 1973), known by his stage name Daz Dillinger, is an American rapper and record producer. A record producer is someone who helps artists make music in a studio. In the early 1990s, he was a key member of Death Row Records, a famous record label. He helped make West Coast hip hop and gangsta rap popular across the world.
In 1992, Daz and his friend Kurupt started the hip-hop group Tha Dogg Pound. Together, they have released eight albums. Daz learned how to produce music from the famous producer Dr. Dre. He helped produce Dr. Dre's album The Chronic (1992) and his cousin Snoop Dogg's album Doggystyle (1993). He also worked on Tupac Shakur's album All Eyez on Me (1996).
His first solo album, Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back (1998), was a big success. After leaving Death Row Records, he started his own record labels, Gangsta Advisory Records and D.P.G. Recordz.

Early Life
Daz Dillinger was born and grew up in Long Beach, California. He comes from a musical family. His famous cousins include the rapper Snoop Dogg, singers Brandy and Ray J, and professional wrestler Mercedes Moné.
Music Career
Starting at Death Row Records (1992–1995)
Daz started his music career when he was 19 years old. He signed with Death Row Records and learned about music production from Dr. Dre. He was featured as a rapper and producer on Dr. Dre's first solo album, The Chronic, in 1992. Around this time, Daz met the rapper Kurupt, and they decided to form the group Tha Dogg Pound.
Tha Dogg Pound was featured on Snoop Dogg's first album, Doggystyle, which came out in 1993. Daz was officially credited for producing two songs on the album. However, Daz has said he produced much more of the album without getting credit. He also produced music for the movie soundtracks of Above the Rim and Murder Was the Case.
During the 1990s, there was a famous rivalry between rappers from the East Coast and the West Coast of the United States. Tha Dogg Pound made a song called "New York, New York" as part of this rivalry. In 1995, the group released their first album, Dogg Food, which was very successful.
Becoming a Top Producer (1996–1998)
As the East and West Coast rivalry continued, Dr. Dre began to spend less time at Death Row Records. This gave Daz a chance to produce more music. In 1996, Tupac Shakur released his album All Eyez on Me. Daz produced five songs on this album, including the hit singles "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" and "I Ain't Mad at Cha".
The success of All Eyez on Me made Daz a well-known producer. He produced many other albums for Death Row artists, including Snoop Dogg's Tha Doggfather and Nate Dogg's G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1 & 2. He also worked on the soundtrack for the 1997 movie Gridlock'd.
After Dr. Dre left Death Row in 1996, many other artists like Snoop Dogg and Kurupt also left the label. This made Daz one of the most important artists remaining at Death Row. In 1998, he released his first solo album, Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back. He left the label later that year.
Starting His Own Labels (1999–Present)
After leaving Death Row Records, Daz started his own record label called D.P.G. Recordz. He released his second solo album, R.A.W, in 2000. Since then, he has released many more solo albums on his own.
In 2001, Daz and Kurupt got back together to release the album Dillinger & Young Gotti. They released it under the name DPG because Death Row Records still owned the name "Tha Dogg Pound." The two friends had a disagreement for a while but eventually made up at an event hosted by Snoop Dogg in 2005.
Since then, Tha Dogg Pound has gotten the rights to their name back and has released several more albums. Daz has also worked with other artists. In 2020, he released a collaborative album called Guidelines with the rapper Capone.
