Michele Sharon Jaffe (born March 20, 1970) is an American writer. She writes many types of books, including exciting mystery stories and novels for young adults.

Michele Jaffe's Early Life and Education
Michele Jaffe was born in Los Angeles, California. She went to Harvard University and earned her first degree in 1991. After that, she worked at the Huntington Library, which is a place for learning and research.
Later, she went back to Harvard. In 1998, she earned a higher degree called a Ph.D. in a subject called comparative literature. This means she studied and compared different types of literature from various cultures.
Michele Jaffe's Writing Journey
After writing a book about the Renaissance period, Michele Jaffe decided to start writing fiction. Her first novel was a romance story set in the Renaissance. This book, called The Stargazer, came out in 1999. It was the first of four historical fiction books she wrote.
Soon after, she started writing suspense thrillers. These are exciting stories that keep you guessing. Some of her thrillers include Lover Boy and Bad Girl, both published in 2003.
Writing for Young Adults
Michele Jaffe then wrote her first book for young adults (YA). This book, Bad Kitty, was published in January 2006. The next month, it was chosen as the Book of the Month by the Meg Cabot Book Club.
In 2007, she published Kiss and Tell. This story was part of a collection of stories called Prom Nights from Hell. In 2008, she wrote Kitty Kitty, which was a follow-up to Bad Kitty. A graphic novel version of Bad Kitty called Catnipped also came out that same year. Her most recent YA novel is "Rosebush," which was published on December 7, 2010.
Michele Jaffe is friends with another popular YA author, Meg Cabot. They used to write advice columns together on Meg Cabot's website. Now, Michele Jaffe writes advice blogs more often on her own website.
