Michelle Buteau is a talented American comedian, actress, and TV host. She is also a producer and hosts podcasts. Michelle is known for her funny stand-up comedy and her roles in many movies and TV shows.

Early Life and Education
Michelle Buteau was born on July 24, 1977, in New Jersey. Her father was from Haiti, and her mother was from Jamaica. Michelle went to college at Florida International University. There, she studied television production. Her dream was to become an entertainment reporter.
Michelle's Career Journey
Starting in Comedy
After college, Michelle worked as a TV news producer in New York City. She often worked late at night. Her co-workers thought she was very funny. They told her she should try stand-up comedy. Michelle finally performed comedy for the first time in 2001. She had been working hard covering the news and needed a change.
After five years of doing stand-up, Michelle got her first chance to be on TV. This was on Comedy Central, a famous comedy channel.
Rising to Fame
In 2017, Esquire magazine named Michelle one of the top ten comedians to watch. This was a big step in her career.
In 2018, Michelle started hosting her own podcast called Late Night Whenever!. Time magazine called it "one of the best podcasts of 2018." Michelle also appeared on Netflix in a show called The Comedy Lineup. In this show, new comedians perform short 15-minute stand-up sets.

Michelle Buteau has been in many movies. In 2019, she appeared in Someone Great, Isn't It Romantic, Sell By, and Always Be My Maybe. Personal Life
Michelle Buteau is married to Gijs van der Most, who is a photographer from the Netherlands. They got married in 2010. Michelle and Gijs have two children, who are twins. Their twins were born in January 2019 through surrogacy. Michelle is also Catholic.
