Michiaki Kakimoto (柿本 倫明, Kakimoto Michiaki, born October 6, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward during his career.

Playing Career

Michiaki Kakimoto was born in Miyako, Fukuoka, Japan, on October 6, 1977. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences, he started his professional football journey.

Early Career and First Clubs

In 2000, Kakimoto joined Avispa Fukuoka, a club in Japan's top league, the J1 League. However, he didn't get to play in any official matches that year.

The next year, in 2001, he moved to Singapore and joined a team called Clementi Khalsa. There, he played in 29 games and scored 14 goals, showing his skills as a forward.

Return to Japan and J.League Teams

In 2002, Kakimoto came back to Japan. He joined Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest football league. His team was promoted to the J1 League in 2003. However, he didn't play much during these two seasons.

In June 2003, he moved to another J2 League club, Shonan Bellmare. This move was a turning point for him. He became a regular player for the team and scored many goals, becoming an important part of their attack.

Loan Spell and Later Career

In 2006, Kakimoto went on loan to Cerezo Osaka, a J1 League team. He often came on as a substitute forward. Even though he played in 25 matches, he only scored one goal. At the end of that season, Cerezo Osaka was moved down to the J2 League.

He returned to Shonan Bellmare in 2007, but he didn't play as often as before. In 2008, he joined Matsumoto Yamaga FC, a club in the Japanese Regional Leagues. Here, he once again became a regular player and scored many goals in 2008 and 2009. His team was then promoted to the Japan Football League in 2010.

Michiaki Kakimoto decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2010 season. Throughout his career, he played in 239 league matches and scored 76 goals.
