Michiaki Kakimoto (柿本 倫明, Kakimoto Michiaki, born October 6, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, which means he was responsible for scoring goals.

Michiaki Kakimoto's Football Journey

Michiaki Kakimoto was born in Miyako, Fukuoka, Japan, on October 6, 1977. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences, he started his professional career.

Early Career and First Clubs

In 2000, Kakimoto joined Avispa Fukuoka, a club in the top Japanese league, J1 League. However, he did not play in any matches that year.

In 2001, he moved to Singapore to play for Clementi Khalsa. There, he played in 29 matches and scored 14 goals. This was a great start for him!

Returning to Japan and J.League Play

Kakimoto returned to Japan in 2002. He joined Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League. He played 14 matches that year. In 2003, his team, Oita Trinita, was promoted to the J1 League. However, he did not play much in the top league.

Later in 2003, he moved to another J2 club, Shonan Bellmare. This was a good move for him. He became a regular player and scored many goals for the team. He stayed with Shonan Bellmare for several seasons.

Loan to Cerezo Osaka and Later Years

In 2006, Kakimoto went on loan to Cerezo Osaka, a J1 League club. He often came into games as a substitute forward. Even though he played in 25 matches, he only scored one goal that season. At the end of 2006, Cerezo Osaka was moved down to the J2 League.

Kakimoto returned to Shonan Bellmare in 2007. However, he did not play as often as before.

In 2008, he joined Matsumoto Yamaga FC, a club in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He became a key player there, scoring many goals in 2008 and 2009. His team was promoted to the Japan Football League in 2010.

Michiaki Kakimoto decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2010 season. He had a long career playing for various clubs in Japan and Singapore.
