The Michigan ElvisFest began in 1999. Two Elvis tribute artists, Matt King and Sherman Arnold, worked with the Ypsilanti Depot Town Association to create it. They wanted to celebrate Elvis Presley's amazing music and influence. This festival took the place of an earlier music festival in Ypsilanti.
Growing Bigger Every Year
Since it started, the Michigan ElvisFest has become the largest Elvis festival in North America! About 20,000 fans come to enjoy the fun each year. The festival was put on hold in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, the 22nd festival happened in 2021 instead.
What Happens at the Festival?
The main stars at the Michigan ElvisFest are the Elvis Tribute Artists. These performers dress up and sing just like Elvis! But you might also see tributes to other famous singers. Sometimes, artists who sound like Tom Jones or Roy Orbison perform too.
More Fun Activities
