Michihisa Date (伊達 倫央, born August 22, 1966) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender, which means his main job on the field was to stop the other team from scoring goals.

Michihisa Date's Football Journey
Michihisa Date was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on August 22, 1966. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he joined a local football club called Yamaha Motors in 1989. This club later became known as Júbilo Iwata.
From his very first season, Michihisa Date played many games as a centre-back. A centre-back is a key defender who usually plays in the middle of the defense line. The club played in the Japan Soccer League until 1992.
Moving Up in Japanese Football
In 1992, the Japan Soccer League changed, and the club joined the Japan Football League. Michihisa Date's team had a great year in 1992 and won the league championship!
The next year, in 1993, the club finished in second place. This strong performance helped them get promoted to the J1 League for the 1994 season. The J1 League is the top professional football league in Japan.
New Team and Retirement
In 1995, Michihisa Date moved to another club that had just been promoted to the J1 League, Kashiwa Reysol. He continued to play for Kashiwa Reysol for a few more seasons. He decided to retire from playing professional football at the end of the 1997 season.
