Mieszko Talarczyk (born December 23, 1974 – died December 26, 2004) was a talented musician. He was the main singer and guitarist for the Swedish band Nasum. This band played a very fast and heavy type of music called grindcore. He also played in other bands like Genocide Superstars and Krigshot.
Mieszko was also known for his skills in sound engineering and music production. He helped start Soundlab studios with Mathias Färm, who was a guitarist from the band Millencolin.
In 2004, Mieszko went on a holiday to Thailand with his girlfriend. This was during a break from making music albums. Sadly, he passed away in a terrible natural disaster. This was the tsunami that happened on December 26, 2004. A tsunami is a very large and powerful ocean wave, usually caused by an earthquake.
Mieszko's body was identified on February 16, 2005. His remains were then brought back to his hometown in Örebro, Sweden. His funeral was held there on March 30. His girlfriend, Emma, was badly hurt but she survived the disaster. After Mieszko's death, the bands Nasum and Genocide Superstars decided to stop playing music permanently.
