Miguel's Skiing Career
Miguel Galindo is famous for being a "sighted guide" for visually impaired skiers. This means he skis ahead of a visually impaired athlete. He tells them about the turns, bumps, and changes in the slope. This helps the skier know where to go.
Early Wins and Medals
Miguel was the guide for Jon Santacana. In 2000, they won a gold medal at the World Championships in Switzerland. At the 2002 Winter Paralympics, they won even more. They earned one gold medal and two bronze medals.
European Cup Success
In the 2006/2007 season, Miguel won a gold medal for the overall European Cup. The next year, he recovered from a knee injury. In March 2008, he competed in the European Cup in La Molina, Spain. He finished the 2007/2008 European Cup season in second place. He was still Jon Santacana's guide during this time.
World Championships and World Cup
In 2009, Miguel won another gold medal. This was at the World Championships in South Korea. His first gold there was in the super combined event. He was part of the Spanish team, which included six skiers and four guides.
In November 2009, Miguel prepared for the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada. In January 2010, he competed in a World Cup event in Austria. He and Santacana won a bronze medal in the giant slalom. He also competed in the European Cup at La Molina, finishing fifth in the slalom.
At the final World Cup event of the 2009/2010 season in Aspen, Colorado, he won a gold medal with Santacana. This was a big win before the 2010 Paralympics. He also earned a bronze medal in the giant slalom.
Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympics

At the 2010 Winter Paralympics, they had amazing success. They won a gold medal in the men's visually impaired downhill event. This was the first gold medal for Spain at those Games. Miguel finished the 2010 Paralympics with one gold and two silver medals.
