Michael Leeroyall Evans (born April 19, 1955) is an American former National Basketball Association (NBA) player and coach. He was known for his amazing three-point shooting skills. Mike Evans played college basketball at Kansas State University. He later had a successful nine-year career in the NBA. After retiring as a player, he became a basketball coach.

Playing Career
Mike Evans started his basketball journey in college. He played for the Kansas State Wildcats from 1974 to 1978. During his time there, he scored a total of 2,115 points. This made him the second-highest scorer in Kansas State history. His jersey number 12 was even retired by the university. This is a special honor for great players.
NBA Journey
In 1978, Mike Evans was chosen by the Denver Nuggets in the 1978 NBA draft. He was the 21st player picked overall. He played for several teams during his NBA career. These teams included the San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Denver Nuggets.
He was especially good at shooting three-pointers. During his time with the Denver Nuggets, he was one of the best in the league at this skill. Over his NBA career, he scored 4,531 points. He also made 1,514 assists, helping his teammates score.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Mike Evans became a coach. He started as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets. In 2001, he took over as the interim head coach for a short time. This was for the rest of the 2001–02 season.
Later, he worked as a scout for the Toronto Raptors in 2006–07. A scout helps find new talented players. He then joined the Raptors' coaching staff as an assistant coach from 2007 to 2009. Mike Evans also coached for other teams, like the Halifax Rainmen and the Moncton Miracles.
