Michael Leeroyall Evans (born April 19, 1955) is a former American basketball player and coach. He was known for his amazing three-point shots. Mike played college basketball at Kansas State University. He later had a successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

College Star
Mike Evans was a standout player at Kansas State University. He played for the Kansas State Wildcats from 1974 to 1978. He scored a total of 2,115 points during his college career. This makes him the second-highest scorer in Kansas State history. His jersey number 12 was even retired by the university. This is a big honor for a college player!
Playing in the NBA
In 1978, Mike was chosen by the Denver Nuggets in the NBA draft. He was the 21st player picked overall. Mike played for nine years in the NBA. He played for four different teams during his career. These teams were the San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Denver Nuggets.
Mike was especially good at shooting three-point shots. He was often one of the best in the league at this skill. He spent most of his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets.
Life After Playing
After his playing career, Mike Evans became a basketball coach. He started as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets. In 2001, he became the interim head coach for the Nuggets for a short time.
Later, he worked as a scout for the Toronto Raptors in 2006–07. A scout helps find new players for a team. He then joined the Raptors' coaching staff from 2007 to 2009. Mike also coached the Halifax Rainmen and Moncton Miracles in Canada.
