Michael Harris (born June 15, 1983) is an American professional basketball player. He last played for the Magnolia Hotshots in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Mike is known for his strong skills as a small forward. He has played for many teams around the world and won several important awards.

College Basketball Journey

Mike Harris played college basketball for Rice University. He was a star player there from 2001 to 2005. By the time he finished, he had scored more points than anyone else in Rice's history. He also grabbed more rebounds than any other player. He scored a total of 2,014 points and had 1,111 rebounds.

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Mike Harris started his professional career in 2005. He played for BC Kyiv in Ukraine. Later, he joined the Colorado 14ers in the NBA D-League.

Playing in the NBA

Mike Harris got a chance to play in the NBA. He signed with the Houston Rockets in 2008. He also played a few games for the Washington Wizards. Even though his time in the NBA was short, it was a big achievement.

Success in the D-League

Mike Harris had a very successful time in the NBA D-League. In 2010, he was named the NBA D-League MVP. This award goes to the best player in the league. He also helped his team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, win the NBA D-League championship in 2010.

Playing Around the World

Mike Harris has played basketball in many different countries. He spent a lot of time playing in China for teams like the Dongguan Leopards and Sichuan Blue Whales. In 2016, he helped the Sichuan Blue Whales win their first-ever CBA championship. He was also named the CBA Player of the Year that season.

He also played in Puerto Rico for the Leones de Ponce. He was a key player for them, winning the BSN Most Valuable Player award in 2013. He also helped them win two championships in 2014 and 2015. He was even named the Finals MVP in both those years.

Mike Harris has also played in the Philippines, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, and South Korea. He won the West Asian Basketball Cup in 2018 and the Bahrain League in 2021. His career shows how basketball players can play all over the world.
