Michael Isaiah Richardson, born on February 18, 1984, is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback, which is a defensive position. Mike was chosen by the New England Patriots in the 2007 NFL draft. He also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Indianapolis Colts. Before turning professional, he played college football at Notre Dame University.

Growing Up and High School
Mike Richardson grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. He went to Warner Robins High School. There, he was a talented athlete in both football and track. In football, he was chosen as an All-League player two times. This means he was one of the best players in his league.
College Football Career
After high school, Mike Richardson went to the University of Notre Dame. In 2002, he took a "redshirt" year, meaning he practiced but did not play in games. This allowed him to gain experience without using a year of his college eligibility.
Playing for Notre Dame
In 2003, Mike played in all 13 games for Notre Dame. He mostly played on special teams, which are units used for kickoffs and punts. He also got to play as a cornerback in three games.
