William Michael Coleman (born July 8, 1992), known professionally as Mike Zombie, is an American record producer and rapper. He is from Willingboro Township, New Jersey. A record producer helps artists create their music. They often make the beats and sounds for songs.
Since 2012, Mike Zombie has worked as a producer for Drake's music label, OVO Sound. His most famous work for the label is producing the hit song "Started from the Bottom" in 2013. He also produced "They Don't Love You No More" for DJ Khaled in 2014.
Mike Zombie's Music Career
Mike Zombie became well-known for producing Drake's song "Started from the Bottom." He used a part of a song called "Ambessence piano & drones 1" to create the beat. This song was a huge success.
"Started from the Bottom" won "Track of the Year" at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. It was played during the NBA All-Star Weekend and in a LeBron James Sprite commercial. The song was also featured in video games like NBA 2K14 and Assassin's Creed 4. It was even nominated for "Best Rap Song" at The 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
In July 2013, BET magazine recognized him as one of the "top 10 young producers to watch." Later that year, Complex magazine also named him one of the "25 new producers to watch for."
Mike Zombie released his first mixtape, The End of the Beginning, on December 22, 2013. A mixtape is like an album, but often released independently. In 2014, he released his first music video for the song "616" from that mixtape.
On January 27, 2015, Mike Zombie released another project called "Rebel Without a Cause." In 2016, he put out more music, including "Humble Genius" and a joint album with Benzi Ayo called "Ea$tside Story." More recently, in 2019, he produced a song for The Game called "A.I. With The Braids," which featured Lil Wayne. He also produced "These Demons" for Eminem in 2020 and "Get Off Me" for Kid Cudi and Travis Scott in 2024.
