From Band Member to Solo Star
Mikel Erentxun began his music career in 1978. He was a key member of a popular Spanish rock band called Duncan Dhu. The band was very successful and made many fans. After a great run with Duncan Dhu, Mikel decided to start his own solo career in 1992. This allowed him to explore new sounds and write his own songs.
Making His Own Music
Since going solo, Mikel Erentxun has released many albums. He has put out 16 albums as a solo artist! He even covered famous songs like "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths. He changed it to "Esta luz nunca se apagará" in Spanish. He also covered Morrissey's "Everyday Is Like Sunday" as "Todo es Igual Siempre."
Mikel has worked with many other talented musicians. These include Mark Gardener, Robert Quine, and Pete Thomas. He also collaborated with Lloyd Cole, Matthew Sweet, and Fred Maher. In 2005, there was a disagreement about one of his songs. However, the case was later dismissed, meaning it was dropped.
