Mikki Moore is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on November 4, 1975. He played as a center during his career.

Early Life and College Basketball

Mikki Moore was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He finished high school in Blacksburg, South Carolina, in 1993.

Moore played college basketball at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He played for four seasons from 1993 to 1997. During his time there, he averaged 8.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He became known for blocking shots, ranking second in his school's history with 236 blocks. As a senior, he averaged 11.7 points and 7.4 rebounds. In 1996, he helped Nebraska win its first basketball championship. This was the NIT title game, where he scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Mikki Moore's Professional Basketball Career

After college, Mikki Moore was not chosen in the NBA draft. However, he still went on to have a long professional career. He played for many different teams, earning the nickname "journeyman." He played for nine different NBA teams during his career. These teams included the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, and Boston Celtics.

Moore also played overseas and in other leagues in the U.S. He played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the NBA Development League (now called the G-League). In 2002, he was the first player picked in the NBA D-League Draft by the Roanoke Dazzle. He had a great season in 2002–03. He was named to the All-NBA D-League First Team. He also won the NBA D-League Defensive Player of the Year award. In the CBA, he was on the All-Rookie Team in 1998. He also made the All-CBA First Team and All-Defensive Team in 1999.

Playing for the New Jersey Nets (2006–2007)

On July 27, 2006, Moore joined the New Jersey Nets. He was traded from the Seattle SuperSonics. During this season, a teammate got injured, which gave Moore more playing time. He had one of his best years in the NBA. He averaged 9.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He also led the league in field goal percentage, making 60.9% of his shots. This was a big achievement for an undrafted player.

Time with the Sacramento Kings (2007–2009)

On July 21, 2007, Mikki Moore signed a multi-year contract with the Sacramento Kings. He played for the Kings until February 19, 2009, when he was released from the team.

Joining the Boston Celtics (2009)

Soon after leaving the Kings, Moore signed with the Boston Celtics on February 24, 2009.

Playing for the Golden State Warriors (2009–2010)

On September 2, 2009, Moore signed with the Golden State Warriors. He played for them until January 4, 2010. He had surgery for a bone spur in his right heel and was then released by the team.

Later Career Teams (2011–2013)

Moore continued to play basketball for a few more years. In December 2011, he briefly signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. In January 2012, he joined the Idaho Stampede in the NBA D-League. He also returned to the Golden State Warriors for a short time in April 2012. In October 2012, he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers but was released soon after. His final professional games were in the NBA D-League in 2013. He played for the Idaho Stampede and the Reno Bighorns before ending his career in December 2013.
