Miley is also situated along the tracks of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. Railroads were very important for moving goods and people across the country. They helped communities like Miley connect with other places.
A Bit of History
Even though Miley is a small community, it has a bit of history. For a few years, it had its own post office. This post office was open from 1899 to 1902.
The community was named after a person named Julian J. Miley. He was the very first postmaster there. A postmaster is the person in charge of a post office. They make sure mail gets sorted and delivered.
