The Austroargiolestes christine, also known as the milky flatwing, is a type of damselfly found only in Australia. It belongs to the family Megapodagrionidae.

This damselfly is special because it is endemic to certain mountain areas in northern New South Wales. This means it lives naturally only in that specific part of the world. You can find it near streams and wet, boggy places.

What the Milky Flatwing Looks Like

The milky flatwing is a medium to large-sized damselfly. Its body is mostly black and pale yellow. Adult damselflies often have a powdery, light coating on their bodies called pruinescence.

Like other damselflies in its family, the milky flatwing rests with its wings spread out wide. This is different from some other damselflies that fold their wings back over their bodies when they are resting.

The Austroargiolestes christine looks a lot like another damselfly called Austroargiolestes isabellae. That species is found in the Sydney area.
